This will be another long description, so hold on to your hats, kids.
This, ladies and gentlemen, is Andrew McMahon, the singer and piano player for Something Corporate. Somewhere along the way, probably on the SoCo website, I stumbled across the picture that inspired this work. He's amazing. Truly. I've never seen anyone perform like that, before or since.
ANYway. So I gave another mouse-painting a try, this time in color, which ended up taking about twice as long as my other mouse-painting did, but at least it's in not just black and white! A few details:
1. It's supposed to be that rough looking. I wanted it to feel more like a painting this time, rather than so life-like. Besides, the resolution is wall-paper size I believe, and man...the picture I used for reference was MUCH smaller, and hard to see. But I got what I needed to.
2: Again, it was all about placing color in rough shapes and smooshing it around with the smudge tool. Many, many different layers, of course, then flattened and played with a little that way. I stayed clear of the blur tool, but I did finish it off with a bit of the burn tool to give it more character.
That's about it!
Oh, small edit: I didn't really say it, even if I did talk about Photoshop tools. This -is- done in Photoshop only. I may try that Painter program some day.

This is insane... I faved the wallpaper, thinking that you had just put it together from a picture you had taken or found... but wow... That's just awesome.
